The first story is from 2010, and became, later, the first chapter of The autopsy of Josefa Gordijn, a novel about physical pain, written in dutch. The second story, ‘Malebranche’s God’, has also found its way into that novel.
The other three were written rather a time ago. Yet, they still feel very actual to me. What these stories have in common, is my predilection for unreliable first-person narrators. It is so much fun to write in such a way that readers, only getting what the first person-narrator tells them, yet know much more than the narrator herself!
